past perfect

this is the easiest tense after knowing present tense. You do not need to remember anything but had. Yes, in this tense we just use had as auxiliary after subject and followed by verb3 or past participle.
look at the example given below carefully:

1. + He had gone to school.

- He had not gone to school.

? Had he gone to school?

2. + She had climbed the mountain.

- She had not climbed the mountain.

? Had she climbed the mountain?

3. + They had run to the forest.

- They had not run to the forest.

? Had they run to the forest?

4. + We had listened to the music.

- We had not listened to the music.

? Had we listened to the music?

5. + I had done my homework.

- I had not done my homework.

? Had I done my homework?

6. + You had understood the lesson.

- You had not understood the lesson.

? Had you understood the lesson?

7. + We had spoken English.

- We had not spoken English.

? Had we spoken English?

8. + They had washed their clothes.

- They had not washed their clothes.

? Had they washed their clothes?

9. + The cat had eaten fish.

- The cat had not eaten fish.

? Had the cat eaten fish?

10. + Tony and Andy had swum in the river.

- Tony and Andy had not swum in the river.

? Had Tony and Andy swum in the river?
