past continuous

This tense is very simple. if you understand well about present continuous you will understand this tense easily. you just need to change is and am to be was for subject he, she, it, and I. and to change are to be were for subject they, we, and you.
see the example below:

+ He was going to school.

- He was not going to school.

? Was he going to school?

+ She was climbing the mountain.

- She was not climbing the mountain.

? Was she climbing the mountain?

+ They were running to the forest.

- They were not running to the forest.

? Were they running to the forest?

+ We were listening to the music.

- We were not listening to the music.

? Were we listening to the music?

+ I was doing my homework.

- I was not doing my homework.

? Was I doing my homework?

+ The cat was eating fish.

- The cat was not eating fish.

? Was the cat eating fish?

+ Tony and Andy were swimming in the river.

- Tony and Andy were not swimming in the river.

? Were Tony and Andy swimming in the

+ Roger was hitting that stone.

- Roger was not hitting that stone.

- You were not blaming me.
